    Default Another question about scraps.

I'm starting a quilt top that has appliqued beach balls on it. I had to trace all the pieces onto the paper backing of the fusible web and i'm in the process of cutting out the pieces after having fused the glue to the fabics. My question, what do others do with the scraps after cutting out the template pieces? The scraps have the fusible web on it and even though I tried to lay them out so that there was minimal fabric waste, there is still some waste. I can't for the life of my think of what to do with these scraps. Anyone have any ideas or do you just toss them?

I toss "those kinds" of scraps. If I didn't my husband just might put me in the looney bin.

I do not toss these. I am currently useing and seeking out others for crumbs (scraps) to make my blocks.
The blocks are 3 1/2 inch squares. true it will take alot of these to make the top. Have over 100 done for this project already. Just have to be patient' . the fusalbe is sewable. can still be used.

I always tossed them before, but maybe won't in the future.

I keep them in a separate box, especially for future applique, small pieces for features on faces etc!

I generally toss them ,learned the hard way what can happen if they get mixed up ( fusible on the iron) . I keep them ( seperate container) if the pieces are fairly large.

i have a special tote i put applique scraps in- so when i am going to do some applique i can look through those scraps first before using new pieces of fabric- especially if i need some small pieces-like flower centers, eyes, ect-

Has anyone seen the technique "snippets" ? You use the tiny fused pieces to draw figures...it's fun!

Well I have heard of confetti quilting, which sounds similar, do you have any pictures to share with us AnnieF?
