I can't believe how much easier this than the way I used ta measure & cut.

I've used my mat and ruler for this purpose before, but not my rotary cutter. It does look like you are using a utility knife like I did!

Are you using a utility knife? I would be afraid of chipping my ruler. I have used an old rotary cutting blade and my big ruler to cut wallpaper.
