I am going to be in Boulder in a week and was wondering if anyone knew if any good Quilt Shops in the area?

I know there is a big Joann's on S Colorado Blvd in Denver just north of I-25. I don't as yet know of any LQS in Denver.

My daughter just moved there and decided she wanted to get into quilting since she has a friend expecting a baby. I checked out the Joann's when I helped her move to Denver (job transfer) but didn't find anything when I did some quick Internet searches. I did find the addresses for 2 sewing machine repair shops, however.

Also, check out the Goodwill off of Broadway in Denver - It's huge and really worth taking some time to visit.

Good luck. If you find anything, PLEASE let us know!

P.S. I don't know Boulder at all. Hopefully someone does on the board!

I was in Denver last weekend, I visited a shop at Holly and County Line, the name is Holly's Quilt Cabin, they have a very nice selection of all types of fabrics and projects.
I also went to Snappy Quilts at Orchard and University, they specialize in bright contemporary fabrics, such as Amy Butler, etc. Great American Quilt Co closed this spring, so if you Google and find the name, they are sadly no longer there.

Glad you asked this - next year I'll be going to visit a friend in Boulder and quilt shops are high on the agenda!

Thanks for the info. :)

I have lived here for 10 years. I didn't know there was a Joann's in Marathon. I'll have have to find out if they are still there.

How long ago were you here?

It wasn't Joann's like the chain store, it was a local shop called Joanns, it was on the west side of Highway 1 about midway on Marathon. I haven't been in the Keys for about 12 years, so she may well have moved on.

If you're going to be in Boulder I'd go north and go to Longmont, Loveland and Ft. Collins. They all have great quilt stores.
