Default Any tips for a husqvarna lily 550

Hello I have inherited a Husqvarna lily 550 and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me. I have been looking for videos or tips, but there are not many out there. I would like to try free motion but cannot find many details on settings for the machine. Thank you in advance!!!

I had a Lily some years ago - it was a great machine, and I still regret trading it in. All I did when I freemotioned was set the stitch length to zero, drop the feed dogs and put my quilting foot on it. It was not fussy about thread, either.

Enjoy your quilting!

You might ask at your nearest Husqvarna dealer. When the Lily was new on the market, free motion quilting on home machines was not even a thought. Try Hinterlands system. I am sure it will work.

My machine I take to retreats etc. is the Lily 540 & it does FMQ just as well as my Sapphire 870Q does..... in my case it's mostly operator error not the machine that has a problem.

Do you have the manual? Page 16 shows you how to lower the feed dogs. I eventually put a black marker beside the wheel to show me what was up & what was down. I one time pushed so hard on the wheel I shoved it right up inside & had to take it in for repairs.
The first little blurb on this site is for that machine.... I don't recommend the fabric mover as it's for such a small space, but the first page shows what you were asking about. http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/au/Hu...ver%281%29.pdf
