Question re: swaps
Hey quilters, I've been away for a while enjoying my new baby. I have been cruising the boards catching up on what's going on. I saw in a swap that a participant of that swap was suppose to include "a piece of your fabric SELVAGE (with MFG/designer identification) on the baggie." Is this a new rule for all swaps? If so, why?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Ive been hosting monthly swaps for over a year now and I'm tweaking things here and there to make the swaps move smoothly... In all of my swaps it is required that all participants submit 100% cotton fabrics, however in hosting these wonderful swaps some members have 'accidentally' sent in blends.... SO, to make my life easier I request that the selvage is attached so i can surf the web and confirm, versus doing the burn test on 100 different fabrics..(unless the selvage says 100% cotton then, whoo hoo! no further action required for verification!! )
......ever burn something? the smell lingers...

and some swaps are for whole quilts even.. There are LOTS to choose from..
For MY swaps any member wishing to participate needs to EMAIL me all the required info outlined in my thread swap (page 1)- I cannot accept PMS as I cannot keep them under 500- so they get purged often... so once accepted, just keep visiting the original sign up post- lots of communication

that isnt far off the truth.. Ive 'bought' some after it being submitted in my swap.. and yes some members do ask from time time about a specific faric in my swaps.. it helps locating it..
