My Aurora 440 developed a loud humming noise and is driving me crazy. The repair shop is a long distance away so I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how do you stop it?

I was downloading an embroidery pattern and noticed my sewing machine wasn't on so I turned it on and this loud humming noise came out of it. Help!

Gayle, I had that happen to me and after I called the store they pointed out that I had somehow engaged my bobbin winder . You might check that.

Karolwak, thank you, thank you, thank you! That was it! I don't know how that happened but I flicked the lever and the noise stopped. Wow, so simple! So grateful for you and this site of helpful quilters/sewers.

This board is the most amazing helpful place to be. It seems like no matter what, someone has seen it, done it, or been there! Everyone just jumps in & helps!! If only quilters could solve the rest of the problems, the oil spill, bad economy, hate among fellow man no matter where you live.....
