I found it! For some reason it just popped into my head.

For the design I'm talking about, if you clickon the title page, it is the third one you see...the circle made of sticks. I just bought the book!

Oops. I put my question in the wrong place. Can you see?--how did she quilt around the sashing and the "sticks"? Did she simply keep going or did she stop and go, leaving those strips unquilted? This is a great pattern but want to know more about how to quilt it.

Illinois, MaryKatherine is a member of this board. She is a lovely talented fiber artist that I was privileged to meet last year. Why not send her a PM with your question?

Circle idea is intriguing. There are a lot of those strips, wonder what the back looks like.....bet is a bit tricky keeping it from pocketing. Let us know how it works........

A couple weeks ago, Fonz & Porter showed a Pick Up Sticks quilt that Marianne had made. It was more like a Tic-Tac-Toe layout of sticks, but some had more than the four sticks to a block. Good luck with your quilt and will be looking forward to a picture when you are finished.

I wasn't sure what you were pointing to, but then clicked on the pics under the book... it's pic 4 of 13... looks neat. but my fave is the one with the mostly plain fabrics and horizontal 'sticks' 3/13.
