Anyone from Lincoln, NE?
#1
My husband and I moved to Lincoln, NE about 2 years ago. I left my small hometown and many wonderful quilting buddies. I belonged to a quilt guild and it was the most wonderful group of women. I learned so much and realized that quilters are the most caring, helpful people in the world. I can't seem to find a quilting buddy here. I did meet on gal when I took a class at the LQS but she moved away. I joined the guild and have gone a few times but the women seem to be in "established" groups. I have taken a few classes at the LQS (that is where I met my friend that moved) and know some of the gals by name but they all seem to work. So....if there is anyone who reads this board and would like a quilting friend....please respond. I am a retired teacher and 61. I have sewn since Jr. High (garment sewing) and started quilting about 5 years ago.
Reading the quilting board each day has inspired me to keep quilting. I enjoy the board SO much  Thanks everyone.

I sure hope you get to meet other quilters in your area
another way to meet other quilters is to set up a meet and greet and post a note here on the board under offline section
I have already set up 3 meet and greets so far and have met lots of quilting boad members and have my 4th one set up this month.
We usually meet at a quilt shop and then afterwards go for lunch (I always have a private room reserved at a restaurant for us)
we eat have show and tell and demonstrations lots of fun
I have found lots of new friends on the Quilting board and some of us lives close to each other

At the top click on USER LIST, then type Lincoln NE in the FIND BY LOCATION BOX and the members in Lincoln will pop up. You can also just type in NE and you'll get everyone that is in NE but maybe did not say what city they are in.
That's how I find people when I visit different areas. I live in CA but when I spent 10 days in Austin TX I connected with some gals and we got together for lunch and went to some quilt shops. Now I'm in Yakima WA and I'm hooking up with some gals here as well.
PM the gals that come up and maybe you can make some new friends!

I'm in North Platte - don't get up to Lincoln much. The State Quilt Guild meeting is in Kearney the end of the month - will be there along with lots of quilters from NE - if you can make it pm me and I'd love to me you or anyone else here on the board that will be there!

I live in Milford, about 20 miles west of Lincoln. I would love to be your sewing buddy (even though I am a new quilter.) I have joined the Blue River Quilting Guild in Seward. I am 57 years old and and am unemployed at this time. Pm me if you would like to get together. Looking forward to meeting you.
