I mostly do purses and handbags and wanted to do the inside pockets attached to the lining a different way. I pulled out two colors of a heavier thread and put that in the upper and lower loopers of my serger, using one needle with regular thread to give the edges of the pocket a finish as well as an interesting pattern. I put 2 needles in my singer 401 and attached the pockets to the lining by topstitching, which added another interesting detail with the close parallel lines that the 2 needle sewing provides.

I almost forgot that one can put 2 needles side by side in the 401 to get a very nice decorative effect.
