Has anyone used one of these? I've done some handquilting (takes forever), used my faithful 30+ year old Montgomery Ward regular (hate trying to slide all that fabric through), and a friend's longarm machine (almost as much work, center, clamp, baste, do two rows, unclamp and roll again). The George looks like it might be good for me but want other opinions. Have a long time to think - takes a while to save up and convince myself I really would use it enough to justify the cost.

I don't know anything about the George machine, but I like your "Buster Machine".

After looking at long arm machines, I have decided to either quilt my own or send to local long armer. After all, how many quilts would you have to quilt for it to pay for itself?

There is no way I can afford a long or mid arm now but I have my Juki and a Grace frame and it works for me. I used the Juki for about five years without a frame and it was much easier than my regular machine.

The George is a great machine. I have seen it in action and is just amazing. Is a long arm, but it sits on a very nice table. You have almost 22 inches of throat space so there is no pushing a quilt through the throat. It cost about $7995.00 plus shipping and extra %500.00 if you require professional setting up. I was looking at it just today at Pat Sloan's store. If I had the $ I would get one right now.
