. . . and it was awesome! I loved it! The class was large, about 12 of us or so, and she was doing another one in the evening. We're making a log cabin block first, which we've cut out and we need to sew it together before the next class in two weeks' time. We also need to make a court steps block as our homework before the next class. I basically took the fabric I had (read: just recently bought as I haven't even looked what fabric I have). A lot of the girls were distressed that the log cabin could take up to 11 colours, but we were actually told that we needed only 6 for the first class. So, I threw in 11 colours ranging from the deepest, darkest purple to a light green in Batiks. I haven't got it sewn together yet as I had to work last night and this morning and just haven't had time to lay everything out again and start working.

But it was great to see other people's work in class come together and get more ideas. The age range must be from late 20s to late 60s, I would say. Some have experience and others, like me, don't.

All in all, a fantastic time and I'm looking forward immensely to the class progressing.

Good for you!!! Keep taking classes and keep practicing. You are very fortunate that there are classes offered in your area. Many quilters don't have access to classes. Once you have a quilt pieced or put together, please share!!
