I can't believe I just scored this machine for FREE! I've been using a 35+ year old singer that works fine, but with no bells or whistles. I wasn't even thinking about when I could afford something new, especially when my old one is still going.

But as it turns out, my 16 year old cousin mentioned to her mother she might be interested in learning to sew. My aunt went right out and bought her this machine along with a bunch of notions. My cousin took one look at it and decided that she's not so much into sewing after all. Hearing that I've recently taken up sewing/quilting as a hobby, my aunt insisted I take it off her hands. I think my mom gave her money behind my back, but neither she nor my mom would take a penny from me. So I guess I just need to make them some fabulous quilts!

I feel like a kid with my new toys on Christmas morning. All kinds of bells and whistles that I've never seen. And thanks to the great folks on this board, I already know what a lot of them were for. I kept shouting, "I have a quilting foot!...I have a walking foot!.... Look, there's a compartment to store bobbins!" Then my husband looks at me funny. It has so many fancy stitches and even the ability to monogram, I almost don't know where to start.

I was browsing online about this machine, and the reviews are all either one star or five star. So far for me, it's great, although I have yet to make anything of substance, just "playing."

Does anyone else have this machine - what's your experience of it?

Oh, no :( I was so unprepared for all of this. I didn't even think of that. She must feel so unloved.

p.s. I have family who live in the vicinity of Bowling Green. It's a great little place when I visit, although my family who lives on the outskirts seem to think it's a big city
