Default Aurifil thread from Tristan in Canada

Hello,

I am working on my first quilt using Aurifil thread and LOVE it. Several people have recommended Tristan in Canada as a vendor. Their website confuses me and I have a few questions.

When there is a grab bag of assorted colors are the colors pictured the ones included?

How does shipping work? How much did you pay for how many spools?

Finally did you have any problems with your order? I've not ordered anything from out of the US.

Thanks, Linda

OOPS! One more question, in the GRAB BAG 7H (Piecing) Aurifil Cotton Mako 50wt 1300m 6 spools of solid piecing colours, are these six different colors?

They have an e-mail address on their site to get the shipping costs etc. from them.

I found their site confusing too. I order from here instead:

She doesn't have every color, but what she has is a great price, with quick shipping and excellent customer service. A great place to shop!

They have great customer service (they used to post the phone number) and shipped quickly. I couldn't track the order across the border, but it did arrive in about 7-10 days. Shipping was more expensive, but the thread so much cheaper it was worth it . I purchased a grab bag of wonderful colors, but I don't remember if it matched the picture exactly. Hope that helps. Remember to check the exchange rate for the dollar and the fee your card charges for exchange.

Unfortunately Sue has announced that she is ending her online business - which I'm bummed about because she was my one and only source of Aurifil. She has sold out of many colors.

You might try Red Rock Threads. Their prices are good and they have large selection.

Grab bags here: http://www.tristan.bc.ca/cart/home.php?cat=36

I order all the door crashers. I certainly hate to hear the site will be closing. I wonder if she will have a printed catalog?

She keeps hanging in there and does have some new things. I just noticed she has bundles of neutral colors and also bundles all one color at decent prices. I hadn't noticed those before.

If you haven't checked out the fabric, look at the muslin. Excellent quality and low price.

I just ordered from Follow That Thread. It came quickly and the shipping was very reasonable.

I have ordered from Tristan in the past and had very good customer service. Ordered a door buster that had about 25 different spools and the cost of shipping was $20. Including the cost of shipping it was still cheaper than anyplace else I could have ordered from. Took about 1 1/2 weeks to receive. Definitely a great company to buy from.
