That is my problem too...it hardly ever works...I thought it was just me.

I have a Janome and have never figured out how to use the threader. I even watched a You-Tube video on my model and still can't do it. LOL!!

On my Janome there is a up/down button. If you hit that button to bring your needle down and then back up, it sets the needle in the correct position.

I use mine on both my Pfaff's and could not live without... I don't do it the way the directions say to though...

I use mine all the time. It is automatic now, I am not even sure how I do it. I do remember figuring out that it worked better if the presser foot was down.

I have a fully automatic one on my Brother SE270, and a manual automatic on my Brother 1500, and I use both of them ALL THE TIME.

What kind of machine do you have?

I have the same trouble, but I haven't gotten out the book and really studied how to do it yet. I'm sure we just need to practice a little more.

Yes, I use mine all the time too - but the little hook on yours may be missing - mine broke about 2 weeks ago and the dealer replaced it free of charge.

thank you for that info. I have a Janome and have only had hit 'n miss luck with the auto threader. Never even thought about using the up/down button.
