Default Sad day today.

Just learned on facebook this morning that my favorite quilt shop, Ady's in Morgantown, In is closing in the near future. Always love to go in there. Will have to find another favorite I guess

I hate to see this happen to a good quilt shop. I hope you'll find another one close to home.

That is too bad, I hate to see small businesses go out of business. Hopefully you have another one near you.

It's very sad to see a LQS close. Nothing like being able to see and touch the fabric.

I think the gas prices have caused a lot of us to stop driving to out of the way shops and Ady's is 35 miles away for me. I even think about going 15 miles unless there are multiple stops to make. I used to stop in Ady's when going to Nashville, IN but stopped going there a long time ago.

Fabric stores need customers and customers need to visit.

I think the internet has a lot to do with the loss of street shops. There is no real answer to it is there apart from shopping locally when we can. Sad though isn't it? The whole social aspect of going into the quilt shop is an event in itself. Oh well.

I just got her e-mail today, explaining the closing. I'll miss her staff, and her. Great bunch of gals. I spent a lot of time and money in that store trying help a local. Even when I knew I could get it online cheaper I still bought from Ady's. My best friend thinks I should buy it. LOL.....with what? I spent it all at Adys!
