I made one like that years ago. But I had the back so narrow that it only fit on certain chairs. If I made another, I would make the back quite adjustable. It did work well on the right chair.

The one I was looking at went over the back of a chair. Not understanding directions. I will try to post link

I also don't understand this. It seems like the strap should be longer so that it will fit around any chair, and I don't understand where the connector goes or what the flap in front is for when the baby is in the seat. I'm very interested in this; can somebody explain?

I made one very similar to the one emt2004 posted. I took it to restaurants and my grandmother's house. What part of the instructions do you not understand? Mine was from a McCalls pattern I think, and it had decent instructions. Maybe you can pick up one at Joann's or Hancocks for a dollar.
