I might have used more shades of pink in the pinwheels. You want the ballerina to be the center of attention.

I think to trim the white down ,so that it does not stand out so much.

Maybe trim panel, adding a 1 inch sashing of a color from pinwheels, add a sashing 1 1/2 of white and then your pinwheels. Use white again in outer border. Beautiful little baby girl baby quilt!

This is what I was thinking. Pinwheels seem to overwhelm the lovely ballerina.

Since you have the other pink fabrics, could you do pinwheels with white and the various pinks to alternate with some of your current pinwheels?
I also like the idea of making the white background smaller and adding more borders around the centerpiece.
Or you could make small pinwheels of the pinks and white to form a an inner border between the trimmed down center and the pinwheels with the light yellow. Think a narrow border separating each section if you do that would be good.

I think it's the butter yellow that doesn't pair well with the brights. I hate to say it, but starting fresh around the panel might be the best.

    I agree with this suggestion.

I like the ballerina on white - I like the pinwheels with the yellow - I don't like them together.

If you have more yellow - make more pinwheels and make that into a quilt - without the ballerina.

Tea dye the ballerina?? That would minimize the contrast.

when you get to the quilting, use yellow thread in a dense-ish design to minimize the stark white
