Need some advice from the experts. My friend brought a BabyLock Serger about five years ago for $1200. She used it about five times. She wants to sell it to me for $500. Is this reasonable/fair? I have a cheap one but hers is much nicer. (self threading)

I would jump on it if I were you. My BabyLock is 14 years old and I paid $500 for it then and it is not self threading. Oh it was also the floor demo.

Self threading? Yes, that sounds like a very good price. But I would ask her if she could take it to the dealer and get it checked out and serviced before you buy it. I have a Babylock serger that's NOT self threading and I paid much more for it. I would tell you the model, except that it's in a box in a closet. lol

Have you checked out prices on new, similar models to see how this compares?

I believe that to be a fair price, I would pay full price for one again if mine dies, Have had it for about 4 or 5 years!!! Love it!!!!

Hello
Yes, I have a Babylock Imagine Wave and that is a very good price. I have the Evolve too but it is heavy to take to classes. You will have fun and if you have any questions let me know. Enjoy.
