Hi there

I am planning a quilt with 1930`s prints, not sure about the pattern yet. I found almost a similar post here, but my problem is that I would like it to get a sofa throw and with three cats offwhite might not be the best solution.
Do you think a solid pale color will work also? What are your favorite brands of solids?

And if you made a quilt with 1930`s would you share the pics with me?
Any help appreciated

There are solids in 30's colors. pink, blue, green, yellow, pretty much all colors.

The quilts I slept under as a child were 30's quilts made by my grandmother. One was a pink and blue 4-patch with some other design on the bigger blocks, but all just the medium intensity pink and blue. The other was green and yellow, 4-patch and stars. Other than the white background for the little green flowers, there was no white on it. Both the green and the yellow were fairly bright. Both of these quilts are long gone, but I have used some of the 30's fabrics with similar prints in a couple of recent Around the World quilts...sorry I didn't take pictures before giving them to the ones I made them for.

I bought mine at a LQS, Suzy's in Garland TX. But I would bet anyone that carries lots of 30's would have them.

This is a quilt I made but it doesn't help you much since it's got so much white in it! I have three young children so needless to say this quilt is not a couch quilt. :) I think you could easily use a pale yellow, sea green, lavender or any light color with the 30's prints.

I bought them off eBay, but this was about a year and a half ago. I cut the squares and then ended up putting it all away for a year. This past winter I got them all back out and put together the pinwheels. When I started looking around for border fabric I found that eBay had hardly any 30's prints listed and I couldn't find many on other online sites. I ended up just using the white. I would like to buy some more 30's prints to have for another quilt in the future, but I haven't found any online sites that carry a very big selection. I did find a quilt shop when I was out of town that had a lot, but I didn't buy any on that trip. I bought a whole bunch of Civil War prints instead. :) Maybe next time I'm down that way.

When you get your 30's quilt done be sure and post pictures!

I have the same problems with finding nice 1930s prints. How is this triangle border called?
