I know several of you members have made quilts for your cats. Could you tell me approx. what size they are? I want to make one for my sis 'cause her cat keeps lolling about on the placemats I made for her for Christmas!

mmm... I'd say about the size of placemats then if they like those :)

Mine actually love the polar fleece and if it's has "edges" they love to lay up against it, like on the couch arm and cushion.

It is nice of you to think of her furbabies.

I made my daughter's cats quilts using the polar fleece on both sides. I think they were about 18" x 24" and I put then inside of their pet beds. It's all she can do to get them out the beds so that they can be washed.

That's funny! I forgot to say her cat's name is Fat Catherine!

The quilts I made my folks kitties were around 30x30. I used 6 inch (finished) squares alternating with 6 inch (finished) 4 patch blocks. They were made from my scrap stash and the 6 inch blocks were convenient at the time.

Ya know it really doesn't matter what size you make for cats because they would much rather lay all over the one you are currenly working on. I have 3 or 4 roughly 24" square ones in my windows for them as well as a few flannel ones that I thought they would cuddle up with but they want whatever I'm working on instead.

I make them different sizes....depends on where I want them. I have a small one on the couch, very narrow. This where they lay next to me. I have one on my ottoman, same size as the top. Long narrow one for the end of my bed. Little ones for there kitty tower. I have done both Fleece and cotton ones. They love them all...I like how they are easy to clean.

I made one for my Baby Peeps that is about 24" square. She and I use it in my recliner; it's big enough to cover my lap & legs and for her to lie on it. When not in use, I just fold it, throw it on the seat, she uses it that way. :-)

Great idea for windows. I might have to do that. Our window sills are 6 inches n they love sitting on them. Bet it looks nice, too.
