Default Bamboo fabric

What is this and what is it used for? I worked for a man this week and he allowed me to go through his mothers stash (She is no longer able to quilt) and I was allow to buy any yardage for a small price and any piece of fabric that wasnt a yard for free. Now this was what I have always wanted , I mean who doesn't want to be turned loose in another quilters stash? I get into this ladies basement and everything is in totes and on shelves packed beautiful.I could not make myself take but 2 or 3 pieces of fabric of rocks, bricks and stones that was only 18'' or so. You know going through someones stash and taking THEIR fabric was really skooky so ...But there was one piece of tan fabric that was marked bamboo fabric and he wanted me to take and use this fabric. But how and what do you use bamboo fabric? It doesn't feel like any fabric I have ever used.So any ideas?
