I spray baste and THEN saftey pin. I think the spray helps me BASTE better, not quilt better. But once it's pinned well, the fabric moving has never been a problem.

I am a spray baster also. I like using Madeira. I love it!!!
I have used others ans the 505 is good. but don't like the smell. I have asthma and some of the sprays will set it off.
the Madeira has not done that, I don't spray real heavy either.

I am a spray baster also and never had a problem i use it for all sizes i guess to each its own

I use June Taylor on all my quilts & it works for me. It has a smell when you first put it on but doesn't leave a scent.

I prefer 505 spary and yes I have used it on bed size quilts when I quilt them on my sewing machine. I like it because it doesn't gum up the needle like some sprays do.
