I am putting together a Bear's Paw quilt, and the pattern calls for the 2 1/8 inch triangle squares from the block to be repeated in the inner border and the outer border. For the LIFE of me I cannot seem to wrap my brain around the corners of the pieced borders! Anyone got suggestions or directions?

I am totally new to this but it looks to me like it should be a square in your brownish print material. Probably the same size at your HST squares.

I am sure someone with a lot more knowledge than me will be able to help.

BTW...your quilt top is beautiful...great work

Isn't is a square block in the corner?
It would be the same size as your unfinished 1/2 sq triangle.

The HST rows are to suppose to fit the width and length of the main part of the quilt. You will need to re-do them because you are a little short of the corner. Then put a brown square on each corner the same size as the HST.

Your HST are going in the opposite direction then the pattern picture. If you turned them in the direction in the pattern you would put a blue square in the corner.

    Does this help?

Next row is a solid color strip, yours would be blue, then another row of HST that fit from corner to corner with a solid block on each corner. (The corner block is the same fabric as the edge it will be sewn to)

    BTW-Beautiful Quilt!

Thanks for the input. I haven't stitched the borders yet....just couldn't get them to "feel" right. Tried a square in the corner and didn't like it. Will try it again and see what happens with some new sunshine on it! :)
