i had oversprayed my placemats and have washed them one time so far. how long will it take for it to come out? i want to give these for a gift but am hoping that it comes out. if not now i hope at some point.

Look for the manufacturer's website. Their FAQs should let you know. I've only used 2 brands, but noticed differences in them.

i use june tailors. it says it can be left in or laundered. so i am assuming that it will wash out. i hope. does anyone think that i should wash them one more time?

ARe they too stiff? I am not sure I understand the problem. I have used several brands and it always washes out. Stabilizers take a bit more washing than the basting spray.

no they are not stiff. on the back i have a long dark wet spot. i have only washed it one time so far.

wow, I never had a problem like that , I wonder if you sprayed it to thick. Does it look oily or something? Maybe you can try spray N wash or some stain treatment. Keep us posted as we all are learning from our mishaps. And we do hope this isn't permanent.

yes i sprayed it to thick there i guess. it looks like it is oily. actually what it does look like is that when a spot on it is wet it looks darker than the rest of the fabric. it is only on the back side which is a solid color.

June Tailor’s Quilt Basting Spray is designed to be odorless and colorless. The spots you see may have appeared for one of three reasons. First, it is important that the can be thoroughly shaken before spraying the Quilt Basting Spray onto your quilt batting. This will ensure the contents of the can are completely mixed as you begin to use Quilt Basting Spray. Second, the can should be shaken throughout the basting process to ensure the contents of the can are always thoroughly mixed. Each time the can is set down or motionless, the contents inside the can begin to separate. If the can has not been shaken thoroughly and constantly, the propellant that allows the adhesive to project from the can will come out in clumps and will not dry as intended. Third, To remove these spots, we recommend machine-washing your quilt if your fabrics and your batting are 100% cotton. If your quilt contains a polyester/cotton blend fabric or batting, it may be necessary to dry clean your quilt.

I accidentally sprayed Quilt Basting Spray on something other than my quilt. How do I remove Quilt Basting Spray from other objects?

To remove Quilt Basting Spray, purchase Hexane at a local paint store. Hexane is a very flammable solvent that will help to remove the adhesive found in Quilt Basting Spray. We recommend testing the Hexane on a small, discrete area before treating the entire surface. Paint thinner may also work. Pour the Hexane or paint thinner on a rag and dab the affected areas. Allow to dry for 30 to 95 minutes in a well-ventilated area. Conduct final cleaning using soap and water.
