i've posted many many quilts over the past couple years here on the board- pretty much all of them combine batiks, cottons, flannels, wools, silks....you've seen lots of pictures of them- just didn't know that they had a variety of fabrics in them...i see quilts with batiks (which are 100% cotton) and other fabrics all the time- in fact very seldom do i see a quilt that is all batiks.

I conbine batiks and prints all the time. If I like them together, I use them together. There are no rules.

I had a big selection of an old fabric line in fat quarters. I made the top but it was impossible to find a matching border fabric. So I found an interesting batik in the colors and related design for the outer border. Kind of brings it all together. The other part of the same set is having a batik sashing and outer border.
