I've learned NOT to pre wash those 10" batiks. I was afraid of them running so I was treating with a color setting product (all darker colors) that I was to put in with a cream color background. Well, the squares did shrink enough that I couldn't get 5 (2") strips! I will have to cut 1 3/4" strips and the other cuts reduced by 1/4"-I hate when you have to think this much!
