Batting question - baby quilt to crawl on

Today II finished the quilt top of a quilt that I want to use as a 'crawling blanket' for my baby girl. I'm not sure which batting to use. I machine quilt and I want the batting to be soft and on the thicker side. I don't use any poly batting. Any advice? Maybe two layers of cotton batting? Wool? Or with scrim? Thank you!!!

I recently pre-soaked some of the Hobbs Tuscany wool cotton blend, and it feels wonderful. Sturdy, yet nice and soft. It doesn't have the loft of plain wool, but it is softer than the plain wool.

The warm company came out with a new batting: Warm & Plush. It's 100% cotton and about half again as thick as Warm & Natural. I really like it a lot, but it has no scrim so you need to quilt it about 4" apart.

I love 2 layers of warm & plush for that high loft poly look but with the weight of cotton.

@joe'smom - Do you know if the Tuscany Cotton Wool blend is machine washable?
