Default 505 Basting Gone Wrong

I picked up a can of the 505 to try for the first time yesterday. Spent the last hour setting everything up & began spraying. I've never used it before, so I needed everything ready. Got about 1/2 way of just the backing to the batting & the can won't spray anymore! It's still full. I ran the top under hot water, air flows through fine, put it back on but nothing comes out when depressed. What do I do now? Store won't open for another 4 hours... Any suggestions would help!

Shake the can well. Then turn it upside down & try to spray it. This helps to clear any clogs in the tube or button. If that doesn't work then you're only option is to return it to the store.

Or try a spray nozzle from another type of spray like starch.

Try the up side down trick but bring it back to the store if that doesn't work. You don't want to remove all the compressed air if glue isn't coming out so you can have the clerk see the problem.

Try inserting a fine needle/pin into the whole in the spray nozzle.

Sounds like a bad can-I'd return it. I use 505 all the time and have never had that happen.

Try spraying upside down but not for long. Then you will have to take it back.

I would take the can back to the store. But you are not in trouble, you can just start spraying where you left off. Not a problem. You can place the batting down and if it is not correct place, you can re position it , works great.

The way I spray is to lay my quilt layers dry, then peel back about half the top layer and spray on the exposed batting. Then I roll the top back into place, smoothing as I go. Repeat from the other side, with the other half of the top. Then flip over and repeat the whole process for the backing.

If you're able to spray out air but no product, it sounds as if the straw may have separated from the nozzle. Nothing to do but take it back.
