Default Believe your sewing machine manual

Five or six years ago I bought a used Pfaff Grand Quilter. I so love the machine but in the last couple of years I've had trouble with a skipped stitch every so often. I had tried rethreading, different thread, changing the tension and always had a skipped stitch once in awhile. Drove me crazy but not a catasprophe as I sew with very short stitches. Knowing it's a semi commercial machine I always cleaned the machine, changed the needle and oiled the machine when I changed bobbins. I sew some part of every day.Yesterday when I oiled the machine it didn't skip a beat. Today I oiled that baby and again had no problems. Manual says, "If the machine is used often, oil daily." I guess I never equated the problem with the solution because the first few years I adhered to oiling when I changed the bobbin and had no encountered problems.

As the saying goes, "When all else fails, read the directions". LOL
