Default Brother XR1300 at Costco, does anyone have knowledge of this machine?

My daughter is getting married this summer, so I wanted to get her a personal item for Christmas, because she will receive a lot of household items and appliances. She has experience sewing and always wants me to sew for her, and uses the statement "Well, if I had my own sewning machine, I could sew it my self." I am a Bernina fan for life, but I am not going to spend a lot of money for a machine, that I am not sure she will use very much, as she is busy and I am not sure of her real interest level. So, to shorten the story, We purchased the Brother sewing machine that Costco has in their store. Does anyone know anything about this machine? I am a firm believer of "You get what you pay for", but I also know that Costco has good products and stands behind what they sell. I appreciate your imput.

My sister bought the one from Costco several years ago and still loves it. She kept trying to get me to buy one but I have not needed it.

I have never been to Costco so I can say nothing about them. I have two Brother machines and love them both. One is a little cheapie from Walmart. It has many stitches and has sewn everything from curtains to prom dresses. It will sew through anything and has never seen a repairman. The other is a 1500S bought online. It's straight stitch only and I use it every day for piecing and quilting.

I think your gift will be an excellent starter machine for her.

This is a great starter machine! I got one for my daughter a couple of years ago and was fine. Then something went wrong -operator error no doubt! But she took it back to Costco and took advantage of their hassle free return policy and got a refund. By then the models had changed but she just got the one being sold currently and she felt she got a
a better one. Costco.com carries them too. Good 'ol Costco!

2 of my friends bought that machine and like it. I bought a cheapie Brother from Costco 3 years ago and it's still my primary machine. I am saving for a good one, but only because I want more stitch options and the larger throat space for quilting. For piecing and apparel, it's a workhorse.

Don't have that model but my cheapie from walmart gets 2 thumbs up, love her for all my on the go piecing, and she pieces just as nice as my super might as well be a car brother so the costco one would probably be comparable
