I would like opinions on both machines. I was going to buy the 770 but I bought bernina bernette340 instead. Will I be sorry? I am new to machine embroidery. Quilt shop offers classes and phone help. I was on my own with the brother from walmart.

I have a Bernina. One reason I switched brands was due to the level of customer support and training I could get at the LQS. That should be taken into consideration when purchasing a sewing machine...just as you would a car or any other piece of equipment. I think you made a good move.

take them both for a test drive, i thought the bernett was a cheap machine regardless of it being made for bernina.

Thanks for the replys.
I couldn't find a 770 to try. I had to buy on line sight unseen. I got to try the 340 and was given a number to call with any questions or problems and a schedule of classes I could take free. I hope it was worth the extra money.
