I have rulers from bunches of different makers. I kind of buy them according to the project I'm making. They all work as advertised. No complaints about any of them.

I have been quilting for over 30 years and tried them all. Right now Creative Grids gets my $$ because of their integrated nonstick features, their clear thin lines and variety of rulers. I am slowly replacing all my others one at a time. For other templates, it depends on what is available. I have Omnigrid pieces, specialty templates, steel ones, etc.

I totally agree with sewingitalltogether. I seem to buy my templates when one is called for with the project I'm working on.

I tend to like thick acrylic ones if you can get them. having said that, i do have some thin mylar plastic ones and they also are fine.

I have one eye to use when cutting and sewing so I use the creative grids; Eleanor burns site of Quilt in a Day gets my vote for ordering templates and rippers. Love their 60 degree ruler and O'Upfa short ruler with a 'lip' to hold it in place.

I like Deb Tucker rulers. She is always coming up with different ways to use them. I have almost everyone.

I'm not sure there is a "best" brand of templates. I have different brands and like each one for different reasons. My recent favorites are the Easy Angle and Companion Angle rulers for making HSTs and Flying Geese. Those come out very precise without having to trim - at least that is my experience.

I like the Creative Grid ruler for all over use.

Missouri Star brand of templates are my favorite. The edges seem to glow. There is a big difference between rulers and templates. My most used one is the exact ten inch square from MSQC.
