Thank you to all who responded. Yes, maniac quilter 2, sew biz girl, betty gee, and paper princess, i did find some inaccurate seams and did not measure or square as I stitched. Clmay, I sew with a 1/4" foot and should have been more aware my seam edges did not 100% line up. G-ma Kay and blueheavenfl, you both seem to have a solution I could immediately use to salvage this quilt. I think I shall soon be digging through leftover strips for keyboard options. And k_jupiter you made me laugh out loud for taking myself and my piecing skills (or lack of them) way too seriously. Great answers!

I agree! ;oD

Sewing long strips at high speed is tempting, but easily leads to mistakes. Unless you pin frequently, the pieces can tend to slip apart. I have to slow down and remind myself that unsewing is not worth the extra seconds of sewing fast.

To sushi in snowy Minnesota, thank you. I do try to keep smiling even if it is only to make people wonder what I'm up to. . If I get too serious about things (and unfortunately I am one who gets lost in the details and the elusive goal of perfection), I have to step away from projects for a while until I can return with an open mind and an objective eye. At that point, I usually have learned something that allows me to finish with ease. Somehow, I always have three or four quilts in some form of progress. I don't like to use my seam ripper too much due to the fabric damage potential, so I plan to experiment with piano keys, hopefully, this weekend. Thanks for responding

Gail G, those piano keys are thinking a tune! Hopefully, this week end I can get them pieced with an accurate 1/4" seam.

Zozee, I simply do not believe those patterns that advertise a quilt can be made in a day or an afternoon, speed puts on the pressure, creates boo boos, and takes away the joy I find in sewing. I plan to go back to my comfortable medium speed which means better results for me. Thanks for responding
