After stating my disgust about the logo on the beautiful outdoor scene panel the other day...yesterday, I proceeded to iron all the flannel I had washed in preparation to start cutting out all the blocks for my 3yr. old's new "big boy bed" quilt. As I ironed, it finally filtered through that almost every piece had a logo on that I had searched for weeks to find...John Deere fabric, all of them plastered with the logo, of course. Now this is exactly what I wanted. So, I guess logos are OK in some instances and not in others, but I seriously had to laugh at myself for my indignation on the other thread. Don't get me wrong, I still would not want that other logo on that beautiful panel, but John Deere on the kids flannel was just what I did want.

I have to agree with you, but also you should remember that you probably bought the John Deere fabric because it was JOHN DEERE, but on the other fabric you probably bought it because you wanted a nice outdoor scene. There's definitely a difference in my mind.

I think that's the point several made in that thread ... and wasn't JD used as one of the examples.

Plus several pointed out the significance of the logo on that scene to the "right" people was just as important and relevant to them, as your getting the John Deere logo'd fabric.

People are funny, aren't we?

I dislike logos and brands showing on clothing. They should be paying ME to advertise their stuff - not me paying them!

I bought the bom fabric from wal-mart yesterday and the pattern was beautiful then they were cutting the border fabric and their logo was all over it @ least it was in the dark part of the leaves where it was a little hard to see
but yet I know it is there a little disappointe in that fabric comp.but still worth using it in the quilt. The quilt was called harvest Leaves. Beautiful Quilt.

Well, maybe if you keep real quiet about it, nobody will notice it. What a shame though.

Aren't we just! That little 3yr. old grandson just thinks that there is nothing on earth as important as Dad's John Deere and dad takes him often . He also loves dads CAT bulldozer. One day he went up to dad and said, "Dad, don't you think that you need to do some work with the bulldozer today?" His world revolves around that equipment so I spent several weeks locating that John Deere fabric. Would have bought some CAT fabric too if I could have found some. Anything for the grandkids.
