What's the best book for a FM quilter who, so far, is "good at practice." I find I like all-over designs because I hate starting and stopping. I have yet to find a good marking technique. I want ONE book that sums up everything and gives a variety of simple, traceable designs. What's the best pick? I know you wonderful people know.

I will be anxious to hear some answers, too. I am just trying out FMQ but need some inspiration besides wavy lines and little circles. :-)

Check out freemotionquilting.blogspot.com. The person with that site is trying to do 365 different free motion designs. Hope this helps.

Check the library. It's a good way to discover not only what books you want, but which ones you don't want to waste your money on. Then you can purchase (or add to your wish list) the books that would be more useful to you.

I love this site! A word of warning though...it takes so much longer to fill in with these designs. I'm using kind of a paisley shape to fill in a section of my granddaughter's quilt...I thought I'd be done last month and still have 1/3 to go. I didn't think it would take as long as it is. Of course, my eyes aren't what they used to be, so I am working a little slower than some probably would. but it sure adds alot to the quilt!
