binding a minky quilt with minky used on both top and bottom.
I'm debating how to bind my minky quilt. In the center of this quilt are squares both minky and cotton. The border for the top is minky and the back will be minky. I want to bind it with minky strips, could this be a terrible decision? I've cut my binding 3 1/2 inches wide.
Do I use it as a double folded binding or sew it using one layer fold over and then fold over the back and sew again? does that make sense to anyone?
What advice do you have for me? Or should I use cotton for my binding and forget the minky all together?

I have never used minkie in a quilt, but if I were to use as you described, I would bind in cotton. My reason being minkie has a stretch factor, doesn't it,and I think, I may be wrong, that the cotton edge would keep it from stretching.....I may be way off here, just my thought of the moment.....others, who have done, may have better advise.

Thank you everyone for responding! I watched the video that quiltylori suggested and it gave me confidence. I also watched a video from Jenny Doan had on binding with minky that really helped. I do believe I will try this and when I get it done I will post a picture!
