    yes exactly.

    or another way to visualize it - its a square shaped donut. its got a hole in the middle in the shape of a cross.

    U might want to try a fusible binding...using heat N bond lite, fuse it to the fabric, cut strips, fold in half, fuse it so it wraps around the edge...then use a fancy stitch or mono thread and a very small zig zag...OR..try the binding thingy....

    thats an excellent option too since this is going to be a wall hanging i can use fusible and not have to worry that it might be stiff.

    thats what i will do if nothing else works.

    i'd like to figure it out because i really want to play with the negative space in quilts.

    i've been thinking alot about lace and crochet and how they have open negative space - i'd like to translate that open work into quilts.

    you know I have been giving this some thought . Your lucky doesn't happen alot gggggg. I watched teh video of the binding a angel quilt and withthe use of glue you should be able to bind it much of the same way as you would with a curved quilt inside corner and the glue would hold it in place so you could sew it .
