binding on wrong.

Well I sewed binding on a quilt today and when I got all the way aroung I figure out that I had stitched it on the wrong side not the right side so guess I will try to do it by hand that way and see if I can so I won't have to take it all off. It is a big quilt. Has anybody else did that stang thing?

Yes, I unsewed the whole thing, and did it again :roll: I threw it on the couch and went to bed LOL It was only a lap sized quilt, but still..... :oops: The third time was a charm :D

You can just fold it over to the other side of your quilt and use on of those 'pretty stitches' or even a blanket stitch and sew it down.
I put on my bindings this way a lot as it is easier for me ... and they look great.

I've seen bindings put on both ways, so you didn't mess up! Just Google some info if you need a way to finish. Or ask here, because I'm sure someone could tell you. I sure hate unsewing, so I would keep it like you sewed it. And you might find an alternate way to do binding! Win, win!

I saw a quilt at a DR's office one time ... the lady had done what you did ... which was pretty cool, in my humble opinion, because the binding was bigger on the front and very attractive.
I make big bindings because I think they ought to be an important part of the quilt, too! <wave>
oh, and, if you use a decorative stitch to stitch it all down, don't forget that it will show on the back, so you might consider using thread in your bobbin that matches the back fabric. <wave>
