    has anyone made quilty items with fabric that has designs on a black background?
    i have a whole bunch grouped together, but am sort of at a loss as to what to make with them...
    any suggestions? photos may help..thanks in advance...

    hard to tell without seeing the fabric. describe more what you mean by designs on balack background. are the designs in color or just another black.

    I agree with Holice. Can you send photos? I LOVE working with black backgrounds and carried several of them in my shop years ago. But lately I haven't seen as many good ones as we used to see. I'm talking tone-on-tone blacks, smallish prints, saturated color almost like patent leather, no bleediing.

    Here is a picture of how I used the tone on tone blacks for background. The red is a Hawaiian type print. Red is all the same print but many blacks.

    I love the contrast of colors on black, black really makes them sing :D:D:D

    I had a whole bunch of black background scraps that I had collected not knowing what to do with them ....I made a quilt. Charisma quilted it and posted it here:

    Gorgeous quilts, excuse me while I go drool in the corner. LOL I'm a big fan of black with brights as well. I think you could go the other route and do something like grays, blacks, and whites, and it could look neat too.
