I have spent hours and hours cutting up scraps into 2 1/2 inch squares and some into strips. Problem is, my scrap basket doesn't look like I've done a thing. I think they are reproducing when I take a break. Oh, those fiendish scraps! I think they're out to get me.

That is what happens with me, the more I cut the more there is left to cut. But it will be nice to have all those squares and strips for future projects and not have to spend time cutting them.

I cut my selvages into shorter strips for sewing onto adding machine tape---they seem to multiply too but it's worth it in the end.
Oh, and before you ask, the adding machine tape is to keep them going straight. When I get enough sewn onto 1 yd sections of tape then I'll cut them into strips, add other fabric on, and make a quilt with them. I didn't know why to use the adding machine tape until I started doing it.

When you say add another fabric on, do you mean you sew them on to a base fabric or a fabric between the strips? My brain is in low gear this morning.
