Love the shade of blue. Blue inner border, brown outer would be very pretty, I think.

I agree with this.....

Although I love the umbrella print, I think it would be too busy. I'd use the turquoise/blue and the brown, in different widths....probably the turquoise as an inner border and the brown a wider final one.

I see many had the same thought I did. I also agree the umbrella print would make a nice binding or as the back.

If you have a digital camera lay out the different designs in the sizes you have in mind, take a picture see what you like and if you can make the picture black and white see what blends, yes even black and white. If it does not work you will know it.Different designers(that is what we are) have different ideas.

You people crack me up. A boarder is a person who eats at your house, and may have a room there as well. You would be giving them "room and board" A border is something around the outside, as in: Lake Superior is one border of Wisconsin. So the thing you put around your quilt is a border, not a person.

Sorry about that! I couldn't help myself. Once a teacher, we're always ready with the red pencil!

I know your question was about borders but I couldn't help noticing your background also forms a star and yours is a mixture of pink & white points. Was wondering if maybe you would like to turn your blocks to form alternating pink & white stars? Just a suggestion which may not even be possible. I did see a few white stars and I particulaly liked the one with 2 pink & 2 white points in opposite directions, the one at the top right side, second from right. Whatever you decide, your quilt is beautiful !!!!

Nice quilt...I think I would go with the small blue border then wide brown... you could use the umbrellas as binding or as others suggest for the back..
