    Default bobbin winder

Does anyone have a Sidewinder (bobbin winder) and if so what do you think?

I have one but dont use it. Rather use my sewing machines winder. It works fine but unless your winding a bunch of bobbins why use it.

I had one but gave it away. Using my sewing machine to wind my bobbins does a better job.

I have one and it works fine. When my granddaughter was about 8 she had a great time winding bobbins for me one summer. She kept Walmart out of empty bobbins. I let her wind as many as she wanted. I ended up with a a large tin full of them. I smile everytime I use one for hand sewing or to use as top thread for piecing. She felt useful and learned a lot about thread and tension. She and DH modified it. Took the bottom off and put in a heavy weight so it wouldn't tip over. DH let her disassemble and reassemble. You could feel that kid's self confidence! So yes the Sidewinder was worth every penny.

I have one and use if from time to time. I found it on sale at Joann's and had a gift card, so why not.

I use one because I am Lazy......I don't like to use the sewing machine because I usually have something on it so just whip out the side winder.

Love mine! I literally wore my original one out and had to buy another one earlier this year. They are nice to have for winding lots of bobbins in succession. I hate dismantling my threaded machine in order to wind bobbins.
