I am searching for a great book on cathedral windows. When it is explained in a quick blurb (ie 1-2 pages in a book with tons of patterns), I don't understand how to make one. I need a book I can sit and look at and study but I don't want to buy the wrong book. My library has nothing available.

I don't know if I understand the concept of making a cathedral square but I would like to handstitch the top of the block and then machine stitch to put them together. I don't know if that even sounds right. I have seen ads for books with machine or handstitched blocks. I thought it would be neat to make blocks on my lunch hour or at the pool but to link them together, use a machine.

Can someone help me out here?

Try Eddie's tutorial. It is for a machine one but you could also do it by hand if that is what you prefer.
It is here-http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-35742-1.htm

There's a U tube video on a 10 minute cathedral windows block and I believe that someone on board did a tute on the 10 minute block.

I tried the u tube one (don't know if we are talking about the same video) and it didn't help. I did see the tutorial that LoriEl referenced and it made things sooo much clearer. I have to say that I thought cathedral squares was so much harder. Looks like something I could manage. I am very excited!!

Eddie's tut on here is great. It is much faster and easier than the hand sewn ones!
