Default From the book "Tentmakers of Cairo"

This is a new applique project I started last week...it was fun to do. They are only 14" blocks so I'm thinking about taking them to the copy shop and having one enlarged. I cut them out like a hawiaiin quilt folded into 8ths. the second picture is the next one I'm starting and it has applique shapes in the blank spaces. I saw the tentmakers while at the AQS show in Grand Rapids...really fasinating to watch..(where is spellcheck on this)?????

I really like the first one. The patttern is something different and unusual. Colors are delightful.
