Default Need good source for 60" poly batting

Our church group is looking for a good (cheap) source of poly batting. We do a couple hundred charity quilts a year and the cost of our big rolls of batting just went up so we are hoping to find another source for batting. Thanks.

I don't know much about sources -- have you tried Marshall's Dry Goods -- check them out -- you may be able to get a good price, even retail -- I'm not sure if they carry 60" batting, but you could find out by checking out the Marshall's website. Marshall's is pretty price-competitive so you may find what you need there. I've not purchased batting from them -- the only thing I can suggest is check it out! There are lots of places out there -- this is just one of them!

I have no financial interest of any nature whatsoever in Marshall's, just a satisfied customer.

I ordered 60" poly batting from Walmart online. I too make charity quilts and find the poly batting works well. You could try Hobby Lobby. I recently purchased poly batting from them--45 " wide and I think it worked out to $3 yard using that 40% coupon. That works well too. I use that for wheelchair lap robes.

Go to Walmart on-line. They have great prices on batting. I buy batting there for our Guild and a church charity. You can have it delivered to your home or pick up in your local store.

Definitely Marshall's Dry Goods. Call and ask for a wholesale salesman.

Try Oklee's web site. My charity group has bought from them for years.

I agree with Theodora -- the Oklee poly batting is 60" wide, which is the standard width of a Lutheran World Relief quilt. The website is: http://www.okleequiltinginc.com/

Another possibility for you is Hobbs Batting's charity program:
http://www.hobbsbatting.com/resource...s/giving-back/

A third option is to check with your local quilt shop and see if they will get some for you at the wholesale cost or slightly higher. Our guild's charity program and Project Linus chapter have benefited greatly from the generosity of our LQS. In fact, they occasionally donate batting.

The charity group submits 5 UPC's from Hobbs products to get the charity price. The batting is 96" wide. You may buy either polyester or 80/20. Shipping is extra, so the closer you live to Waco, TX, the better.

Best wishes on your projects!

I am sorry that the site brings up my prior post as a blank and doesn't allow editing.

My paragraphs are in the wrong order. The third and fourth paragraphs should be exchanged.

Sorry for any confusion.

Currently at Wal-Mart - Pellon Quilters Touch 100 Percent Polyester Batting, 60" Wide, 20 Yard Roll $38.42. I don't know if that's a good price.

Walmart Pellon batting, 120 x 30 yards it is now $85.42 cut in half and you get 60 yards of 60" wide. Our guild buys it for Project Linus quilts.
