don't get me wrong I love the speed of strip piecing, HOWEVER, I used to get really board sewing 50 strips! Until now---I discovered Sirius Satellite Radio--For those of us who grew up in the 50's, having this fun music that you can actually sing along to takes all the boredom out of it. In the last 3 hours I have cut all the strips for a lap quilt and sewn half of the strips together,. Right now I'm listening to Shout, Shout a little louder now---Anyone else remember these?

It's good that you have something to help pep you up. :)

My favorite thing to do when I have a boring task is to listen to audiobooks. My library subscribes to NetLibrary, so I have an account with them and can download free books and load them on my MP3 player. If I'm listening to a really good mystery/suspense novel, it can even help me work longer at weeding the garden while I wait to find out whodunit!! :-)

I know what you mean. Lately I’ve been listening to music from the 60’s & 70’s in the sewing room. I remember the song shout, great song :-D

Hahaha!! Yes, I am afraid that I do remember the songs of the 50s & 60s!!! I am that generation too. It does help to have fun music on when you are cutting and cutting and cutting...ad infinitum!! :-)

Maybe I should try the music to keep me in the sewing room longer. My husband sleeps in the afternoons because he works nights. So I try to keep the house quiet. Guess I could use his Ipod. But he likes hard rock stuff. Yuk!

I wish I could play the radio while I'm sewing but I have to share my sewing room with one of my kitties (the anti-social one that has to be by herself in a separate room) and she likes to nap while I sew. So I try not to disturb her too much with my crazy talk while I'm creating.

A few weeks ago I pieced 140 strips together (in pairs) than I cut triangles from the sets. That was even more boring!
