So, I went to a quilt show yesterday and found the pattern. I'd been looking at all the beautiful ones that those of you here have made. I just have to have one.

I didn't buy the hard wooden bottoms they were selling for the bags. Is it necessary to use one of those?

I'm just curious - I haven't even checked out the pattern yet to see what I need or how complicated it is. I tend to just jump right in....

Thanks for any suggestions or help you guys have on this!

I use a double layer of plastic canvas covered with the lining fabric for the bottom of mine

yes, I get it at Wal-mart in the craft section. It's inexpensive and durable.

Yep, plastic canvas used with needlework yarn. It is cheap and easy to use. I only use a single layer.

I have used foam core board cut to size and covered with matching fabric.

That's exactly what I plan to do! I'm assuming it is holding up well?
