Default Are bow tuck bags quilted?

Okay. Yes, I am a dummy. I'd like to attempt making a bow tuck bag. Everyoneelse's are so pretty. But, I have 2 machines that are older than dirt. They do no quilt. They absolutely refuse. I don't have a darning foot or a walking foot and my feeddogs don't let down, so there is no way. So, before I buy a pattern, can someone tell me if there is quilting involved in making one of these. I told you I was a dummy! But, I can only tell so much from the pictures. Thanks for indulging me.

Rows of stitches vertically and horizontally to keep the layers together, thats all it needs.

Yes, I use batting in the Bow Tucks purse, but you don't have to use a heavy one, if you don't want to.

My Bow Tuck purse seems to 'slouch' so next time I will either use a heavier/stiffer batting or use more quilting stitches. But it's really up to you to do it your way.

I know a lot of people quilt their bow tuck bags but I have made a few and didn't quilt them and they came out beautiful. I guess it all depends on your preference. To me, it's easier not to quilt them. Just my opinion.

I just goggle this since I didn't know what it was. The ones I found appeared to have NOT been quilted. BTW~love the purse.

I do light quilting on mine and use fusible fleece. But you could just sew straight lines on it and that would work too. I'll have to try one without any quilting sometime and see how it works out.

It does not need to be quilted. You can if you want to and a few straight lines would do the trick. I personally did quilt mine just to hold it together, but it isn't necessary. Go for it. They are fun to make and fun to carry.
