I orginally planned to go but had a change of plans this year. Was it any good? The past few years I felt it was kind of boring. Vendors were same old, same old, only new stuff was lots of long arm machines and I was ready to leave very early in the afternoon. Felt the same about the NJ Guild show in June, which they won't have this year as they lost tons of money last year. May in Jersey

I went and had a fabulous time. Of course this was my first one, so I was thrilled. I took in a machine quilting class and a couple of lectures, so I was not bored at all. I did spend one full day looking at the booths and playing with the machines, so that was fun. I was originally going to go back on Saturday to look at the booths again but did not want to spend the money on more gas just for that, plus I was out of money. Even though I did not really buy a lot.

I Google quilt shows and festivals. Found they had one in Philadelphia that I was unable to go to, but when I saw this one I planned going long time in advance. If you go to Mancuso quilt shows. They will have a list of upcoming shows. If you want to take a class you need to register online and list all the classes and lectures you want to take. Because they do run out of space. I just kind of stepped in and answered your question, hope this was ok.

Quiltingfan, So glad you enjoyed the show and classes, your first show is always Great. I think my attitude is because I haven't taken any classes at the show lately and also that I've developed arthritis in one of my knees that prevents me from standing and walking for hours. I really don't need anything from the vendors (although that really never stopped me from buying stuff) and was saving my money for the bigger quilt show later this month in Lancaster PA that some friends and I go to every year. Quilt shops in that area have very low prices and we hit ALL of them. This year with my knee problem I may not be able to get to see everything at the show and shop at all of the shops but I'm going to give it a try.

Lace, I am on the Mancuso online mailing list, contact them at www.quiltfest.com to get on it. They have a quilt show in Jersey every year. Also local quilt guilds have shows throughout the year, on much smaller scales but always a good way to see what other quilters are doing and also to shop the vendors. Best place to find out about them is to ask at your local quilt shop - they usually have posters displayed in their shops. May in Jersey

May, It was a small one that is for sure! I do not think I will be able to go to the one in Lancaster but would love to be able to go to all of them. Sorry to hear about your knee, hope it feels better and you will be able to enjoy your time.

I went yesterday ... only spent about two hours there. I bought a few items that I'd been unable to find locally (e.g., Retayne) or that just caught my eye. I always enjoy seeing finished quilts, getting ideas (not that I need any more projects on my to-do list). The display quilts were beautiful, but fairly advanced so I wasn't even tempted to put them on my list. I enjoyed last June's show much better because there were more quilts that seemed within reach difficulty-wise (e.g., good use of fabric/color without overly complicated patterns).
