Default Bright hopes and snowballs

I am trying to make a bright hopes block and a snowball so that they will go together like a garden trellis quilt. I don't have a pattern because I'm trying to make very large blocks 15" for a quick quilt to go overseas. The snowball corner block has to equal a side of the bright hopes block and they are just not lining up. Can anyone help me I'm not any good at enlarging patterns on my own.
Thank you

As you call it, the bright hope block and snowball blocks must be both 15" finished square. You do set this quilt on point. I thought I had in on EQ but it was probably on an older version. Here is a closeup of the Garden Twist I made from Trudie Hughes pattern in her book Template Free Quilting.

I made it over 15 years ago but I cut the snowball blocks 8" and the twisted blocks were cut 3" making a 7.5" finished square. You subtract 1/2" from the snowball block and that creates a 7.5" finished block. Sew the 3" twisted blocks and that also creates a 7.5" block. Is that making sense?? I know I did a snowball and not a pieced triangle so I think those were also 3" squares. That is a guess.

I am not good with math anymore having being disable. But I would make a test block and see how things work out. Cut a 15.5 snowball block and 5.5" pieces for the Twisted block. Hope that is correct. This is NOT an easy pattern.

Thank you so much, I've played and played with the numbers I just can't get it to come out right, and I'm using accurate 1/4" seams, I'll keep trying I"m determined lol.

Has anyone found a copy of this pattern that gives fabric requirements for different sizes instead of just one block?

It seems to me, if you are making a 15" latice block, you would use 5.5" pieces to make the latice and a 15.5" square with 5.5" squares to snowball it. Hope this makes sense.

I made this quit several years ago, but unfortunately I cannot find it, so I'm afraid that's not a help. However, I purchased it as a commercial pattern from the Eleanor Burns site some time ago. so the pattern should still be available. It is a beautiful quilt.

It is a beautiful quilt. I love it. Can't help with your question though.
